Understanding tags

- [Instructor] In this video I want to talk about adding tags. Now tags are an important part of any construction document set and in Revit tags are especially powerful, because instead of being just disconnected symbols where you type in information, the tag is actually a hosted element that's attached to your model. So this is a very important concept in the building information modeling paradigm, because our model is not just about graphics and physically characteristics, it's also about information. So the way that tags function in Revit is the tag is actually hosted to some model element and it will get information from that element. And I like to think of this as imagine that the tag is asking its host element a question and then whatever the information is in this host element it'll get reported in the tag.
