Using the exercise files

- [Instructor] The exercise files for this course are downloadable from the library, and it's my suggestion that you download them to a known location so that you know where they are and then what I will do as we work through the videos, and the chances is reference those files so you know which file to use at a given time. So when we're using the exercise files, we'll be using Revit 2021 project files, which are RVT files. You'll be looking for a file a bit like this. So as you can see there, it's got a little blue and white RVT logo or icon, and this one's called New Office Building METRIC.rvt for example. So that's what you're looking for in your files when you want to use them to follow along with the videos in the chapters. So that's your Revit files that we'll be using during this course. Be aware that Revit is not backwards compatible. So this particular file type Revit 2021, cannot be read by older versions of Revit. Will also be using the Unreal Engine version 4.25.0 and the project files for that are uproject file. There's also various other folders have lots of other files associated with an Unreal Engine Project as well. But the main file you're looking for is that it's .uproject file, and you can see that one's called TEST001. So what I'll do is make sure that you're fully aware of all the files that you need to download for each chapter and the videos in the chapter. So just keep an ear out for that during the course. You can download all of the files so you need for this course from the library before you start as well. A quick note to older versions of the above applications can be used, but as I said, be aware of interface differences and also file compatibility, especially with those Revit files that are not backwards compatible.
