Walls
- [Narrator] Material takeoffs are very similar to a schedule. Well, actually they are schedules. Let's call it this, a material takeoff is a schedule that breaks down the objects being scheduled to the material level. So let's start with my favorite, walls. Under projects I'm going to go to open, browse to where I'm keeping my exercise files and I'm going to grab architectural walls. Let's click open. Now under the view tab, let's click our schedules drop down, and we will go to material takeoff. Let's scroll all the way down until we find walls. We'll click okay. Now the fields I'd like to bring in, notice that these are the fields associated with the wall, so those are global fields. If we scroll down a little bit, notice that we'll see a material prefix. These are what we want. So I'm going to of course grab material name. Of course I'm going to grab material area. And I'll grab material comments also. Now let's click okay. Here we have quite a bit of stuff. But that's alright…
