What is LOD?

- [Instructor] In a BIM execution plan the LOD stands for Level of Development. And I've just added a table to our BIM execution plan underneath section six, Design Model Use and Requirements for the Level of Development of our model. Now Level of Development is how much detail and how much information should be in our BIM. Level 100 is typically conceptual Level of Development. This means that we're just now starting to explore the design and nothing's really all that accurate in the documents. Level of Development 200 is the approximate geometry of all the objects in the model. Now they might not be the right dimensions, they may not have the right model number information associated with those objects, but it's approximate geometry, so that if you look at the object you understand what that object is. A level 300 development is precise geometry. That means that your dimensions have been decided. It may not have every single piece of information it takes to complete a construction…
