What is Unreal Engine (UE)?
- [Instructor] We're starting a new chapter now where we're going to discuss arch vis, architectural visualization, and UE, Unreal Engine. So what is Unreal Engine, UE, as it's known in industry? Well, Unreal Engine was developed by Epic Games, and you can find it at www.unrealengine.com. It can be downloaded using the Epic Games launcher that you'll find at the website, and it's been used to create the well-known computer game "Fortnite." It's also being used to bring gaming technology into the AEC industry, with 3D models from applications such as Autodesk Revit, and that's the whole idea of this course is to get you into that Revit Unreal Engine workflow. Unreal Engine is one of the world's most open and advanced real time 3D creation tools, and as I've mentioned earlier, it's known in the industry as UE.
