- [Narrator] So what should you know before you start this particular course? Well, we're going to be working with Revit, and we're going to be looking at optimizing your BIM workflow, your building information modeling workflow. So ideally, you should have a good base knowledge of Revit, especially the architectural side of Revit. So my suggestion there is if you haven't got that, go and find some of the Revit essential training in the library. There are plenty of courses for you to follow, and once you've got that basic Revit knowledge, come back to this course, and start thinking about how you can optimize your workflows for your BIM projects, utilizing Autodesk Revit. We'll also be touching upon 2D CAD drawings, via AutoCAD, as well. So AutoCAD is another product that you should be aware of before you take this particular course, and again, there are plenty of AutoCAD courses in the library. I've created many AutoCAD courses, ranging literally from the ground upwards, in the library. So go and check out some of my AutoCAD courses, as well, so that you've got that base knowledge of AutoCAD, too. You really should know AutoCAD and Revit before you start this particular course. Now also, be aware that we are using the latest version of Revit in this particular course, which is Revit 2020. We will also be using the latest version of AutoCAD, which is AutoCAD 2020, as well. And be aware that the files for each of those Autodesk products, AutoCAD and Revit, will also be in their latest file formats. Now that's especially important in Revit, because Revit will upgrade any older file formats as soon as you open the latest version, and you can't change it back, it's not backwards compatible. So in order to take this course, you need to have a good base knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit, especially the Revit architecture side of things, and also, be aware that we will be using the latest AutoCAD and Revit file formats.
