- [Instructor] This course is an introduction course to using generative design in Revit and Dynamo The course is split into two halves. In the first half We'll be learning about using generative design in Revit. And the second half we will be developing generative design scripts in Dynamo. While no prior knowledge of generative design is required. If you're taking this course I'll assume you have a basic understanding of both Revit and Dynamo. We will however learn how to use generative design in Revit in the first half of the course with no Dynamo requirements. In Revit you should be comfortable with basic interactions such as placing families and line-based elements and adjusting elements by moving or rotating along with navigating through the different Revit menus. At the time of this recording, I'm using Revit 2021.1 which includes the generative design options required in this course. If you're using a version of Revit prior to 2021, you won't have these included with Revit. However, you can use the generative of design processes We explore in Dynamo by signing up to the project refinery beta, which I'll show you how to do later on in the course. In Dynamo I'll also assume that you have a good understanding of how to use the base nodes available in Dynamo along with geometry concepts such as points, factors and curves. Finally, you should be familiar with working with different data structures such as lists. In this course, I'll be using Dynamo version 2.6.1 which comes with the latest update to Revit 2021.1. If you feel like you need to brush up on the basics of Dynamo or Autodesk Revit, there are plenty of Dynamo and Revit courses to work with right here on LinkedIn.
