What's in a Revit material?
- [Instructor] In order to improve our VR visualizations, it's time to start looking at the materials in the model. As you can see here in this Enscape shot, we have a carpet sitting in the middle of the floor, that is the same material as the floor. And then we have this staircase, that seems to be just porcelain white. If we want to understand the materiality of this space, or communicate that effectively to our clients, we need to start digging into how to make these materials VR ready. Let's jump back over to Revit, and learn what makes up a Revit material. Under the manage tab, can find materials. Now here we see a list of all the materials that are currently loaded into the project. I'll expand this window a little bit, so we can see. Now every material has several different assets associated with it. Under identity, we have a lot of the information that we can access and call to, in tags or schedules, or other ways that we're leveraging BIM to deliver information to our user…
