Working with parts

- [Instructor] The Parts feature of Revit allows the Revit user to split certain categories of Revit element into separate entities based on their Structural composition. Those entities can be scheduled, tagged, filtered, hidden, and even edited. This feature is handy for a number of things but in this video we're going to look at how to utilize the features of Parts for visualization by splitting a Wall into Parts and editing it to show the individual Wall Layers, then we will use Filters to Modify their visuals display. Open the O3_O2 Exercise File, if you check your Project Browser you should be in the 3D View, O3_O2 Working With Parts. Here we have a Wall, if we select Edit Type and look at the Structure of the Wall we have three separate Layers with the Material Red, Blue, and Yellow. If we select a Wall on the Modify tab, under the Create panel we can select Create Parts. This splits the Wall into separate Parts, based on those Structural Layers that we just looked at. We can…
