- [Narrator] Moving down the requirements of a BIM execution plan, many of the required elements of the plan are dependent on how the project is contracted. The beginning of the individual project planning begins with understanding the contractual relationship between parties. BIM and IPD have gained popularity along similar timelines, with BIM being Building Information Modeling, and IPD being Integrated Project Delivery. This is because they very much work in tandem to bring much heightened efficiencies to the process of the single project. Together they change the construction process of an individual project by breaking down barriers that were purposefully built into the traditional design-bid-build contract. Traditional contracts do not bring the contractor into the process until drawings are prepared and bid documents are offered to a select group of organizations for response.
