- [Instructor] Next step, we check out the show edges analysis tool. If you are prototyping, this is the analysis tool that you will use and care about the most. In fact, if you didn't have this critical tool, it might be impossible to find the problem areas or get quality prototypes. So what's going on here? We're going to use this command to find defects or openings. One new term we'll run into is called naked edges, these are edges that are open and not closed to the surfaces on either side. Those can happen if you just forgot to close them or join them, or due to modeling errors. One thing you can do, though, before running this command, is select some geometry, and then just check it over here on the sidebar properties. Make sure the object is selected, and then under type it will tell you whether it's open or closed currently. This object looks like it should be closed, I see surfaces everywhere, so let's zoom in…
