- [Instructor] Edge analysis tools in Rhino help us make sure that complex forms stay solid, avoiding pitfalls in 3D printing, rendering and other workflows. I've got the exercise file, solids-edgeanalysis.3dm open. Here we've got kind of a tricky object. Looks like a vase or vessel form. Maybe I'm planning to 3D print this or fabricate it so I need to make sure that this is one solid object. Let's go ahead and click on it. Look into the Object Properties Inspector, and let's look at the details. Well, I can see this is an open poly surface, so it's not closed right now, it's not solid. That's a problem. Just looking at it I don't see any big gaps. I don't see any holes other than this interior hole, which happens to have an interior surface. So that's not it. Well, what do we do in this situation? How do we find out where the gaps are in the surface? So Rhino's got some great tools under the analyze menu. This whole…
