- [Instructor] Now that we've set up our template with a grid and our canvas in Photoshop, we can now begin the process of designing the silhouette. The first thing I want to do is go to our Layers palette here on the right. You can just look for the up and down arrows and find the line right above Layers and just move it up a little bit. From here, I want to go down to the bottom right and look for the Create New Layer button. We want to put it right above the background. This will be our layer to draw our silhouettes. Then from here I want to go to the rectangular creation tool. You're going to go now to your view. I want to make sure that we have Snap to Grid on. So when we draw it's snapping to every single coordinate in the grid here. I want to create a rectangle that's about 2 inches by 6 inches wide. I'm going to start at top left right here. I'm going to left click and drag across until we get, let's see, that's 2, that's 4, and that's 6, and go down to about 2 inches in…
