CNC routing concepts

- [Instructor] CNC routing combines the precision of a computer with the power of a handheld router. CNC stands for Computer Numeric Code and is the directions that we create to tell a computer how to move a router strategically to cut away material to create an object. A CNC router is an invaluable tool for model builder to create site models. This tool can cut out wood or foam to create buildings, topography, roads, paths and more. We will not need a CNC router for the model in this course but I mentioned it though so you can get excited about the possibilities in your own workflow. There are a few general steps we followed to transform our digital model into a physical skill model using a CNC router. You need to start with a digital model of your site imported or created in a CNC capable program like fusion 360 or inventor.
