- [Instructor] In most cases, openings in your model are going to be holes made up of three or more naked edges. Sometimes though, you'll have instances where edges or corners of your model are seemingly coincident, but for some reason they just won't join. These situations can be pretty frustrating because it's usually not immediately clear why your poly surfaces won't close. Let's look at a real world example to understand how this could happen and how to fix it. In this example, I plan on designing an additive product for the Yeti tumbler. Before I complete my design though, I want to send out a test print of my tumbler sleeve to confirm the fit of the final product. So, I want to print this portion of my model, but if I go over to my properties, you can see that it is identified as an open poly surface which isn't great for printing.
