Creating surfaces with lofts
In this video, we'll build two chairs with the Loft command. Along the way, we'll also explore some of my excellent tips to get better results. Fortunately, the Loft command may be one of the most forgiving and easiest to use surfacing commands in Rhino. Before we address some of the more mechanical and precise lofted shapes, let's take a look at some organic lofted shapes. I'm going to give you a series of tips to make your lofting go a little more smoothly. So, the first tip is, we're going to use either open or closed, but not both. So if you zoom in here, we see these are all open curves. Closed would be like a circle. Go ahead and just do a quick Loft and see how it looks. I Shift+Click here. I'm going to skip this one curve. We'll get back to that guy in just a minute. Surface creation. There's the loft. I'm going to accept all these defaults and hit OK. Let's take a look at the resulting complexity of the surface.
