In this video, we explore three of my personal alternatives to the texture map approach for decals, as seen in the prior video. And each one has different advantages, so the best one for you depends on the surface below the text and the look you're going for. Let's start off with technique number one. We're just going to make solid geometry from a simple extrusion using the text command. I'm going to go ahead and zoom over to front view by double clicking. And move it sideways, give it more space, I'm going to go over to the text command. We don't see it, it's on the standard menu. We look for the bit T and click on there. Now we have some area to type in text. You can make it out of curves, surfaces or solids. And you can group them together which sometimes really helps with long words. The letters don't get accidentally left behind. Let's go ahead and make this a little bit different sized. Maybe it's going to be 10 millimeters tall, and 5 millimeters thick.
