Dave's starting strategies
- [Instructor] In this lesson, I get you working with Rhino the right way. These strategies I'm about to share are things I learned very slowly and painfully over a long long time, and I still wasn't very good. Now you're gonna find out right away. So we're gonna start this list with Part A, Dave's Construction Rules. The number one construction rule is let's try to avoid primitives. These are the solid shapes, the spheres, the cones and the cylinders, etc. These are quick, yes, but they are very limiting, and especially make it challenging to go backwards in time for changes. So what do you do? You're gonna build with curves, then make a surface from the curve. Which curves, well I'm gonna recommend just two to make it easy, the polyline curve and the control-point curve. When you're drawing, be sure to use your O-Snaps. Two lines will not snap at the end unless you have the end O-Snap selected. Even if they look really, really, really close, don't count on it.
