Digital file prep for physical scale models
- [Olivia] Physical scale models are showstoppers at meetings and events. They truly are some of the best communication tools for clients and public engagement. But how are they made? Hi, my name's Olivia Morgan. I'm a professional model builder and founder of Model Space. We'll run through the process we use in our own shop to prepare a digital model for physical fabrication. We'll go through how to import and work with a variety of common building file types in the architectural and construction industry. We'll then use that model as a framework to design building block pieces for laser cutting in 3D printing all while applying real world fabrication concepts. The digital model we create together will be the foundation for how we can assemble our scale model physically. All great model building projects start with a well-designed digital model. So please join me on LinkedIn Learning as we take the first steps to becoming a professional model builder.
