Discussing the design

- [Instructor] In this video, we are going to cover the process of the design. We can take references of Google for inspiration, as well as your own imagination. To start the process of creating the Screwdriver handle, I thought it would be great to begin by sketching this out first. Now there's a lot of software out there that you can sue to sketch something, but for this course, I'll be using Photoshop. Feel free to follow along with any software you'd like. Just make sure you are able to export to a PDF or JPEG. So we're now in Photoshop and the first thing I want to do before I begin sketching, is I want to make a document and you want to go to New, and if you go under Print, you want to look for the letter option that has eight and a half by 11 with 300 pixels. So go ahead and click it and hit Create. Right now I have the ruler turned on. If you don't have it on, you can always hit ctrl + R to turn it on. We want the document to be in landscape mode, so I can go to Image, Image Rotation, and click on 90 degree clockwise. And from here, I want to go into our View mode and I want to turn on the grid by going down to Show, Grid. You can also see that there's a hot key for Grid, which is ctrl + apostrophe. So this is our basic template for our concept and in the next video, we'll start beginning designing our silhouettes.
