- I've opened up the exercise file solids-chamfer.3dm. Here we have a freeform solid that we worked on in a couple of other videos and we've gotten it to the point where it's solid, it's got a couple of openings, we're imagining this as maybe a jug or a teakettle, something like that. And I'm noticing, looking at the form there is an issue here. So let's look in perspective. I'll double click to maximize that. So we'd use the wire cut to make this top opening here. And what I'm noticing is, especially right here, there's a part of that interior surface that's underneath the top, so there's a little bit of an overhang, you'll also hear this called an undercut. Now in some cases, we wouldn't need to worry about that, in this though, if we're thinking about putting a lid on this, we don't want to have sort of like an undercut surface that would actually catch the lid that would make it really hard to get on and off.
