- [Instructor] There's an important part of any design process that involves doing things by hand, off the computer. This could include sketching, prototyping, planning, and research just to name a few. In this video we'll use some of the tools in Rhino to make one of those analog tasks just a little bit easier, and that is estimating the amount of material that we'll need for our project. Now remember, our goal is to mass produce 100 musical instruments, so it's really important that before our design is set in stone we have a rough idea of how much material we'll need. This can really make a big difference in the cost and speed of a project, and it also gives us a chance to tweak the design if we need to. This is certainly something you could do with just pencil and paper, but Rhino can make it a little bit more flexible and this'll also give us a little bit of a warm-up with the software.
