Exploding and joining surfaces

- [Instructor] In this video, we'll be exploring the join and explode commands in Rhino for Mac. To help us practice, I've got the exercise file surfacesjoin.3dm open and you can see, I have a form here for a vessel name. It's a vase or a jug. Now, any time that you get into making more complex surfaces in Rhino, almost invariably, there'll be made up of multiple surfaces and joined together into what's called a poly surface. And working this way lets us get lots of complexity in our objects and take advantage of a lot of Rhino's modeling tools. So let's take a closer look at this object. I'm just going to click on it to select it. And then in the properties inspector, let's go down and click on the details button and I'd like a more detailed report on the geometry of this object. So I can see this is a valid poly surface. It's an open poly surface with three surfaces. So that's telling me this is three individual surfaces…
