- In this video, we'll look at how to export your Rhino model ready for 3D printing. Now this video doesn't actually cover how to print your model. For that, I would refer you to 3D printing your project for information about 3D printing. But to prep your model for 3D printing, you need to make sure that the object is what's called, watertight. This means that the object is completely closed with edges that are all joined. So let's do that now. Let's make sure that our model is watertight. First, we need to check for what are called, naked edges. If an object has a naked edge, it can't be printed. So what does that mean, exactly? Well basically it means that the edge is open and it's not fully joined to another edge, even though it might look like it is. Now if you're just rendering the object, this isn't a problem.
