- In this chapter, we're going to be preparing our model for export to 3ds Max so that we can render our model. While Rhino is a great modeler, there are better programs to render or animate it. Rhino 5 has come a long way to improve Rhino's rendering capacity. But if you look to create that beautiful, photo realistic render, I'm not sure if Rhino's the right tool. Rhino's fine for making quick renders to show a client a basic idea. But to make the beautiful images, you need 3ds Max. Please note, this video does not cover how to render in 3ds Max. I encourage you to visit 3ds Max 2016 Essential Training, or Creating Product Shots in 3ds Max. Instead, this video is going to cover how to effectively prepare your Rhino model for export into 3ds Max. So to start, let's make a note of the units in our Rhino model.
