Extending surfaces

- [Narrator] Rhino's Extend Surface command helps us to move a surface edge in order to lengthen that surface. To get some practice with extending surfaces, I've got the Exercise File, surfaces-extend.3dm, open. And what I have here is a design for maybe a vase or a vessel. But what I'd like to do is make a change, and I'd like to make that neck a little bit longer. And what I've done ahead of time is to split up the neck from the base, so I can just go ahead and click on that. And either the Front or the Right Viewport, and with my Gumball activated, let's just click and drag that up to create a little bit more length. So what I'd made sure to do, as I split this, let's zoom in a little bit here, is to split on the tangent of this curve to the vertical. So that's going to let me extend these edges straight down, and it should look pretty continuous. Now with an extension, we'll look at some of the options for doing smooth…
