Furniture types
- We've discussed the form of different types of furniture, the types of ways that furniture can be placed together. Now let's look at the categories of furniture itself. The different categories of furniture we'll look at are Freestanding, Builtin, FlatPak, Transformative and Moveable. Most furniture is freestanding. But often times furniture is not meant to be seen from 360 degrees. Items like a bed, a shelf, a rectangular table are meant to be placed against a wall. But some pieces are meant to be walked around and seen from all different angles. Like the seating in this lobby space. Or this interesting seating. Or this receptionist desk. It's an accent piece within the space and its meant to be seen from all parts of the room. Another category is Builtin furniture. Builtin furniture is integrated into an existing space, particularly residential or entry spaces. Items like this bookcase or in this kitchen. Or in this bookcase in an attic space.
