Generating the building envelope

- [Voiceover] Next up, we focus on drawing some walls in plan view. Now to keep things moving along, I'm going to focus on the exterior envelope only. The interior walls, along with details and finishes, will be covered in the following course. I'll be using a simple three part strategy; first, let's assume all the walls will be solid and closed volumes. Second, we can add doors and windows punched out later, and third, I'm going to utilize nearby geometry for snapping or some of the vertical guides we've already talked about. Let's to go the back porch and start building some walls there. This should be a refresher, but I'm going to use the edges here as if they're curves whenever possible. Under Curved Tools go ahead and do the Offset Curve. I'm going to select this edge, remember there's no curve there, and the distance I'm going to go is three, so I'm going to do that one more time, select that curve, right click to repeat the command.
