Generating doorways and openings

- [Narrator] In this video, we cover doorways and framed openings. A framed opening is similar to a doorway just without any doors and often much wider or taller. These are commonly used as entries or room dividers. My strategy which I call the overbuild method, has two basic steps. We're going to draw the wall curves and then extrude into a solid. These are already done on the second floor where we focus on here. Then, step two, just punch a hole with any overlapping geometry. Let's do the first one here at this entryway from the stair landing to the second floor office. I've got this strike line here. We'll use that for the center. So let's go to curve tools, offset. We do want to make sure that the cap is flat, that will make it closed and you want to go both sides. Now this distance of three which is already in there is what I want, but remember, it's going both sides so you get six total. Go ahead and right click or hit enter to accept.
