Importing a 2D AutoCAD file
- [Instructor] In this lesson we'll learn best practices for importing and organizing 2D AutoCAD files. These files are easy to important edit, but may have more information than we need for our purposes. Our first step is to double check our units. So I'm going to type in units, hit enter. And I know that my AutoCAD file units are in inches so I'm going to change this feet into inches and I'm going to change this to fractional hit okay. Now we're ready to import our file. So I'm going to type an import, hit enter. We're going to navigate to chapter two importing, then to our AutoCAD file. And we want to make sure that our file type is switched to supported files. Great, so now we can see all of our .DWG files. So we have a first floor plan along with a handful of elevations. I find that it's easiest when working with these files to first import your plans.
