Making extrusion surfaces
- Let's look at how to create surfaces in Rhino 5 for Mac using the extrusion commands. Here we've got a few different curves that we'll use to make some extruded surfaces. So, extrusions create surfaces by tracing a profile curve along a path, which is usually a straight line, not always but usually straight. And extrusion commands are listed under the Surface, Extrude Curve menu. We can also access them under the Surface icon. Right here we have extrude commands, or just by typing directly into the Command line. And to make an extrusion, we need at least one profile curve, and this is kind of like a slice or a cross section of the final extruded surface. So, let's start with this free form curve here. I'll zoom in a little bit to take a closer look, and here we'll do the most basic extrude command: Extrude Curve, Straight. So, Surface, Extrude Curve, Straight and Rhino's prompting me for an extrusion distance so that's just how long my final extrusion is and as I'm doing this I can…
