Modeling for 3D printing in Rhino

- 3D printing has become one of the most valuable fabrication tools in industries like architecture, construction and engineering. This technology allows designers and manufacturers to quickly prototype their ideas as proof of concept before moving on to more costly fabrication methods. Rhino is a great digital modeling software for 3D printing projects because it can easily transition between a rough conceptual design all the way to a manufacturable product. That's why it's my design software of choice for my personal and professional work. Hi, my name's Olivia Morgan. I'm a professional model builder and owner of Model Space LLC. I use Rhino all the time in my own model building practice to 3D print buildings and product prototypes. I even 3D printed that phone mount holding up my camera to make this recording. Now, Rhino is a great design software but it does have some limitations when it comes to 3D printing projects. I want to teach you the tips and tricks I've learned over the years to create really great 3D printable projects. In this LinkedIn learning course, we'll cover Rhino's strengths and weaknesses when it comes to fabrication projects. And we'll define a smart workflow you can use to create these 3D printable projects. We'll even cover some troubleshooting methods you could use if anything goes wrong during that modeling process. So if you're interested in learning how to create great digital models for 3D printing or any fabrication method for that matter, stick around and we'll build something great together.
