- [Instructor] Don't run away, it's time to build a shoe. We'll use one of my favorite strategies which I brilliantly called, build bigger, then trim back. Now this may initially seem like more work, but you can almost always build much simpler surfaces in less time and more accurately. Let's talk about strategy by zooming into this finished shoe right here. Now a lot of times, beginners will look at this shape and try to put curves wherever they see an edge. And that's actually the wrong way to do it. We're going to instead build a Surface and Curve Network bigger than needed, and work on trimming it back. Also, we're going to try to stay organized. We're going to work on the ground plane here. We're going to stay close to the origin and use these axes lines you see in red to keep things organized and accurate.
