- [Instructor] So there's a few ways to handle 3D print files for multicolor printing. Let's first go through the steps of preparing a file for multi-head FDM printing because it's usually the most straightforward. In my example file here, I have a very popular 3D print mesh file of a frog you can find on thingiverse.com. This file was specifically designed for dual-head 3D printing, so it's a great example for our own discussion. When you design your file for 3D printing, you need to keep in mind what components will be assigned to your individual extruder heads on your printer. So in this example file I have two separate layers that are labeled to their own specific extruder. So my intention here is to export a single file that's going to be assigned to my extruder head one, and then export another separate file that will be assigned to my extruder head two.
