Offsetting surfaces

- [Instructor] In this video, we'll take a look at Rhino's offset surface command, which makes a copy of a surface or a polysurface where all the points on the new surface are the same distance away from the original. To help us practice I've got the exercise file surface-offset.3DM Open. You can see here that we have three surfaces to work with, one kind of simple surface, a freeform surface, and then a polysurface. So let's start with this one closest to us, and I'll just zoom in a little bit here, and let's go ahead and activate the offset surface command. So that's under the Surface menu, Offset Surface. Now we need to select the surfaces or polysurfaces that we want to offset. In my case it's this one. So I'll just click the select and click Done. And let's take a look at some command options here.
