Opening and saving files

In this video, we'll take a look at the many ways to open and save a file, as well as importing and exporting. Along with these basic skills, we also want to be sure we don't lose any work, so I have a great tip for that as well. Fortunately, the latest version of Rhino makes all of this very easy. I'm going to start at the file menu at the top, so open the standard Rhino file, we'd use file open. However, I want to show you the file news section, it's a little more interesting. This is a really nice feature, it lets you open up a template file with units and tolerances already established. You don't have to worry about changing those layers, so you can click on any one of these. And it gives you a little summary off from the right side, tells you what kind of object would be best used. And why the tolerances are set, I'm going to cancel that and instead we're going to make our own template from this current file.
