Organizing a Revit import
- [Olivia] Now that we have a cleaned up Revit import, we're going to isolate individual building components of this model and reorganize them into layers so it's easier to navigate around our building later in the course. To get started with this process, I'm going to rename my default layer base model, and under that, I'm going to create a series of sublayers. These are going to be the components that we divide our building up into. They'll be things like walls, floors, windows, et cetera. So let's go ahead and make those layers. All right, so I skipped ahead just a little bit, and I've created a series of layers that we'll pull all of our building components into, and I've also given individual colors to each layer so it's easier to visually identify each component in our model. Now you'll notice that this model as an import is just one black color, and you'll also notice that our imported layers are pretty sparse, so…
