Organizing a SketchUp import
- [Olivia] Next we'll organize the major components of this model into layers. This will help us view and navigate around our model later in the course, when we'll need to isolate or turn on and off different pieces of the building. To start, I'm going to change my default layer name to base model, and under that base model layer, I'm going to create a series of sublayers that are going to be divided up into the different components of our building. These are things like walls, floors, windows, doors, et cetera. So let's go ahead and make those sublayers. Okay, so I skipped ahead a little bit and I made a series of different sublayers under our base model. Things like walls, roofs, rails, and so on. And each individual sublayer also has its own color associated with it so it's easier to visually identify it on our model. The next thing we want to do is pull out different pieces of this building into our new layers.…
