- So, over the course of the videos in this chapter, we've built up a really sophisticated algorithm for designing a parametric musical instrument in Grasshopper. Now, I've got my design here set up for one instrument, and I'd like to extend my algorithm just a little bit to help me estimate the amount of material I might need to mass-produce these instruments so if you remember from the beginning of the chapter, that was kind of part of my original intent was to make a flexible design that would help me estimate how much material I would need and how I could use that material in the most economic way to make a bunch of these musical instruments. So that's what we're going to flesh out here. In Rhino, I've got the file instrument-setup.3dm open, and in Grasshopper, I'm working on the file 0100instrumentfinished. And so let's talk about the steps that we would need in addition to what's already here to get our algorithm helping us estimate materials. And I've listed those out down here…
