- [Instructor] Now we're going to model the final and most delicate aspect of our model the rails. First, let's turn on our base model to take a few measurements, I want to figure out what's a good material to use for this piece. So in my top view, I'm just going to type in distance, hit enter and I'm just going to snap to the inside and outside of my rail. So it looks like it's 360 fourths of an inch, which is pretty close to one 16th of an inch. So with that information, I'm probably going to use one 16th of an inch Plexiglass for this piece. Now let's look at the front and check out our pickets. So looking from the front, it looks like our pickets are actually pretty small right here, this might be an issue down the road, because during the laser cutting process, it's very likely that the laser cutter could warp or break such thin pieces. And it's very likely we could also break these during the assembly process. So…
