Shelling your model automatically

In this video we'll focus on creating wall thicknesses which is also called Shelling. Whether your ready for prototyping or manufacturing, the main concern will be creating a uniform wall thickness throughout. So far we have been focused on making things look good but that meant most the model now has a single surface with no thickness anywhere. So that's the best way to design, but now, let's explore Rhino's new automated shelling, and see how it works on several parts. Just a brief heads up, this command only works with closed poly-surfaces. Let's start off by zooming in to this copilot chair. And the command is on the Solid Tools toolbar. It is called, Shell Closed Poly-surface. So select that. going to modify my thickness here, go to three, and for some reason we have to confirm that a second time.
