- Rhino smooth command is really useful for removing unwanted detail from a curve or increasing the overall curvature continuity of a curve from start to finish. If you take a look at how smooth works, I've got the exercise file landscape-designe.3dm open. And I'd like to focus on this sort of S shaped curve here and break down how I made that using the smooth command. So in my layers panel, let's go ahead and set this edging layer to current and we'll turn off the default layer. So we're hiding everything except for this edging. And what I'll do is click on that S curve and just drag it up above a little bit to get it out of the way. But we'll still be able to see it there as a reference. Now, I'll very quickly just draw a rough freeform curve to approximate the shape that I'm going for. And I'll do that from the curve menu under free form with the sketch command.
