- [Instructor] In this video, we're going to switch gears from working with the Ladybug plugin and just work in Grasshopper and Rhino. We're doing that to cover one more important vector concept called the dot product. So in Rhino, I've got the file vector-dot-product.3dm open and in Grasshopper, I've got the file 0120vector-dot-product. So let's just take a look at what we've got here. In Grasshopper I have a group of components that I'm using to generate a random field of points. And I've got a few inputs here, one controlling the total number of points, so I can dial it up or down, one slider for the range of points in the X direction, one for the range of points in the Y direction, one setting the Lo point for the Z height, and one setting the Hi point for the Z height. In Rhino, I've got one freeform surface. What I'd like to do here is to connect points in the random point field that are facing the top of my surface to the closest points on the surface.
