Surface basics - Rhino for Mac Tutorial

Surface basics
- Let's talk about some basic properties of NURBS surfaces in Rhino 5 for Mac. Here, we have a few different examples of different kinds of surfaces, and let's take a look on the Menu Bar at some of the tools for dealing with surfaces. So, under Surface, we've got a bunch of different commands here. Now, these ones on the lower half are for editing existing surfaces, and we'll look at those in a later video. On the top half, here, we have commands for creating all different kinds of freeform surfaces. Now, the most basic surface, which is a flat plane, we can sort of create from scratch just by setting a few points. And then, we have several other commands for making freeform surfaces that tend to use curves as their inputs. So, NURBS surfaces in Rhino are quite similar to NURBS curves. It's actually the same math behind both geometry types, so, it makes a lot of sense that we'll often use curves as the starting points for making surfaces. So, if we look at some of our examples here…
