Tips for faking edge thickness

- [Instructor] Next up, we take a look at faking edge thickness. So, why do you want to fake a material thickness? I'm glad you asked. This works really nicely when you're partially complete, and want to make the design look more finished for review purposes. Okay, we're going to be faking edge thickness in a couple of areas. Since we're going to be faking the edge thickness on this hole, I do want to make sure it's a single piece, and not joined to anything else. I can do that by selecting it, and lookin' around. Or I can go over to the properties, and just make sure it's not a polysurface. It says open surface, which is useful, but if I click on something like this internal bulkhead, you can see that it has a lot of pieces. So, the properties will say it's an open polysurface, that means more than one piece. So it's a great way to make sure something doesn't have other stuff joined to it. This'll go a lot smoother.…
