Using alpha channels and compositing
- [Instructor] We now expand on image capturing, and explore how to eliminate our background, so, we can substitute a brand new one. Our new word for today, is alpha channel. In image editing software, this means an area with no pixels, or, that is transparent. If you've ever done Masking, in Photoshop, it's the same idea. OK, one more DIVA dos and don'ts. We've already talked about the Windows screen capture, and how it really stinks, and, how Rhino does a superior job. And, one thing we're going to get into, now, is how to capture the transparency. So, without capturing transparency, as we see, here, in the Rhino, most people would, by default, go into Photoshop, and use the magic wand, to erase the background. And, that becomes really problematic, as you can see jagged edges, and horrible problems, in areas of small detail. So, it's a simple setting, here, when we get into the Advanced screen capture mode.
