- Next up, we'll explore a simple but cool technique for making power cords or data cables for our console. So besides showing that you understand your design needs power, it can also be a very effective way to indicate scale or add some interest to a rendering. Let's kick off by looking at a bad example which is always fun. I'm gonna come around to the back side and right off the bat, you should probably notice this cable looks a little too big. So definitely want to make sure this is the correct size in the scale. I'm also noticing this comes out of our case at a weird angle. So this is definitely missing what is called a strain relief. I'll show you one in a bit. Let's keep moving along here. I'm seeing that this cable is halfway buried. That's another common mistake. But down at the other end, it's actually floating.
