Using named positions

- [Instructor] In this video we cover how to move and rotate geometry around the scene, which may not seem like a big deal. But with a named position command we can get geometry back to where it started or any other position. You can use this command with a single piece of geometry or the whole file, wow. So why do you want to use it? Well, it's really handy for testing out things that move and avoiding collision problems. You can also avoid making lots and lots of extra copies. For example, if this glass canopy was going to be opening in multiple positions, a lot of times people would make separate copies and layers and duplicate all that geometry inside the file. With the named position command we don't have to do that anymore. So the best way to work with this command is to get the named position panel open. I'm over here right by layers on the side panel.
