Using the toon material for serious renders

Next up we explore a personal material hack I developed to solve a common rendering problem. Many glossy materials, and chrome especially, can disappear when they reflect highlights, especially against a bright background. As you know highlights are critical for defining the shape of your design and adding drama. But if they make your geometry disappear, you gotta problem. Let's take a look at studio in top view so if I have got the couple of lights, I have got the glow wall in the back and a few other objects scattered around. In the render view here, I have got two spheres also known as my render buddies with different materials on them. Let's go to the material and check them out. Click on the M to launch this. This is our basic chrome, it's highly reflective. And then next to it is chrome tune. I've got the first one assigned to the left render buddy and then the chrome tune assigned to the right one.
