From the course: Product Design: From Sketch to CAD
Welcome
- [Jean] Making a CAD model is so much more than hopping into any CAD software and then just starting to design. Taking the time to sketch things out can really help you when designing your product. Hi, I'm Jean Gorospe. I've been working as a 3D modeler for over 15 years in New York City. I have experience working in jewelry, video games, toys, and in fabrication. I've been very lucky to get my hand in many industries, learning so many techniques and practices. In this course, I will take you through designing a screwdriver model from sketch to presentation. We'll do that first by starting in Photoshop, sketching and painting a concept, then moving into Rhino to refine your sketch with great position, drawing out the curves to match your artwork and then exporting that into Illustrator to prep your model for presentation. You should leave this course with the tools to make a great concept model. All right, let's get started.
